Muhlenberg County Stallions logoGREENVILLE, Ky. (7/7/18) — Host Muhlenberg County proved to be too much for Madisonville on Saturday, pulling away to win 6-2 in an Ohio Valley League (OVL) game.

Muhlenberg County pitcher Kaelin Woodard earned the win. Woodard allowed three hits and two runs over eight innings, striking out eight. Another pitcher, Tyler Mattes, threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen for the Stallions.

Madisonville pitcher Chase Robinson took the loss. Robinson pitched two innings, allowing two runs on two hits while striking out one and walking one.

Muhlenberg County outhit Madisonville 7-3.

Brady O’Neil hit a home run for the Stallions in the third inning. Leading Muhlenberg County at the plate, Justin Chauvin went 3-for-4.

Bernee Sanchez led Madisonville at the plate, delivering two hits in five at-bats.

Struggling defensively, the two OVL teams combined to commit nine errors. The Miners committed five errors in the losing cause.
