Owensboro RiverDawgsHOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (7/8/18) — Bouncing back following a loss, Owensboro defeated host Hoptown 3-1 in the nightcap of an Ohio Valley League (OVL) doubleheader on Saturday.

The victory allowed Owensboro to earn a split in the OVL doubleheader.

Owensboro pitcher Cam Curry earned the win. Curry surrendered one run on five hits over seven innings, striking out 10 and walking one.

Hoptown pitcher Ryan Traylor took the loss. Traylor pitched five innings, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out six.

Austin Peterson drove in all three of the RiverDawgs' runs. Curry, Peterson, Jakob Shuler and Ian Ellis delivered one hit apiece for Owensboro in the victory.

The Flash lost despite edging Owensboro 5-4 in the hits column.

Cody Hartness and MJ Rookard paced Hoptown with two hits apiece.
