Madisonville MinersMADISONVILLE, Ky. (7/8/18) — Madisonville fell short in its latest outing at home on Sunday as visiting Dubois County held on to win 7-6 in an Ohio Valley League (OVL) game.

Each team collected 11 hits.

The Bombers won despite committing two errors.

Dubois County pitcher Reece Kleinhelter earned the win. Kleinhelter pitched four innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out two and walking zero. Tobe Whitten threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen for the Bombers. Whitten recorded the last three outs to notch the save.

Jacob Frankel started the game on the mound for the Bombers. Frankel tossed four innings, allowing seven hits and five runs while striking out one and walking zero

Madisonville pitcher Colin Casey took the loss. Casey allowed eight hits and seven runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out six.

Gavin Napier went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Dubois County in the hits column.

Jay Saunders led Madisonville at the plate, finishing 4-for-4. Graham Hackbarth and Caleb Nobles each hit a home run for the Miners.

Madisonville excelled defensively, turning in an error-free performance.
