Hoppers logoHOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (7/9/18) — Host Hopkinsville scored first and never trailed on its way to defeating Paducah 6-1 in an Ohio Valley League (OVL) game on Monday.

Hoptown pitcher Trey Fortner earned the win. Fortner surrendered one run on four hits over nine innings, striking out 12 and walking zero.

Paducah pitcher Jacob Laws took the loss. Laws surrendered three runs on three hits over two innings, striking out two.

The Hoppers outhit the Chiefs 7-4.

Cord Johnson and MJ Rookard paced Hoptown with two hits apiece.

Paducah committed a pair of errors in the setback.
