Muhl Stallions Baseball logoMADISONVILLE, Ky. (7/9/18) — Muhlenberg County made itself at home on the road on Monday, shutting out host Madisonville 10-0 in an Ohio Valley League (OVL) game.

Muhlenberg County pitcher Tyler Mattes earned the win. Mattes surrendered zero runs on two hits over five innings, striking out 10. Aiding Muhlenberg County on the mound, Bryson Horne, Adrian Comas and Kyle O’Brien all put in work in relief out of the bullpen.

Madisonville pitcher Hayden Seay took the loss. Seay pitched five and a third innings, allowing nine runs on eight hits and striking out three.

Muhlenberg County outhit Madisonville 11-2 and overcame three errors to win convincingly.

Noah Meyers went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Muhlenberg County in the hits column. Following Meyers' leading performance for the Stallions, Jacob Morris and Cary Holloway contributed two hits apiece. Holloway drove in three of the Stallions' 10 runs.

Chase Robinson and Hunter Mercer provided one hit apiece for Madisonville in the setback.
