Madisonville MinersHOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (7/18/18) — Madisonville remained in the loss column on the road on Wednesday as homestanding Hoptown prevailed 5-1 in an Ohio Valley League (OVL) game.

The Hoppers outhit the Miners 11-6.

Hoptown pitcher Kyle Turner claimed the win. Turner allowed three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out seven. Sage Holderfield, Hassan Westbrook and Shane Burns all put in work in relief out of the bullpen for the Hoppers.

Madisonville pitcher Jefferey O’Doherty took the loss. O'Doherty tossed two innings, allowing one run on three hits while striking out three and walking zero.

Cole Cummings and MJ Rookard each hit a home run for Hoptown in the victory. Rookard, Cord Johnson, Matt Keane, Blake Jackson and Nick Proto led the Hoppers with two hits apiece.

Graham Hackbarth paced Madisonville's offensive attack with two hits.
