Kentucky WesleyanNORMAN, Okla. (7/22/18) — The Kentucky Wesleyan College men's golf team has been recognized as having one of the highest grade-point-averages in the country, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Friday. The Panthers are among 41 Division II schools in the nation to finish the schoolyear with a GPA over 3.0. There are 230 Division II schools that sponsor men's golf.

A record number of 222 teams throughout all divisions and affiliations submitted GPAs of 3.00 or higher to earn 18Birdies All-Academic Team recognition. The Panthers finished the season with a team GPA over 3.4. The lofty GPA also sits atop the entire Kentucky Wesleyan College Athletic Department for the 2017-18 academic year. Kentucky Wesleyan and Findlay are the lone Great Midwest golf programs to receive All-Academic Team honors.

A total of 48 teams received President's Special Recognition status for having team GPAs of 3.5 or better. To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors a college or university must submit the GPAs for each player on its official squad list for the academic year.

The Kentucky Wesleyan College men's golf team is under the direction of head coach Ken Badylak.
