brescia bearcats sports 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (8/6/18) — The Brescia University Athletic Department continues to break and set new records and accomplishments with the latest being the largest recruiting class in school history. A total of 168 freshmen and transfer students combined will be contributing to the Bearcats' success on and off the field of play during the 2018-19 schoolyear.

Brescia University offers 19 different sports programs that compete in the River-States Conference of the NAIA. Recently, 15 of those programs earned NAIA Scholar Team Awards for recording over or at a 3.0 grade point team average.

"We are excited as our programs continue to grow and to see our student-athletes get a great education as well as to experience a very competitive NAIA athletic experience day in and day out," said Brescia University Director of Athletics Brian Skortz. "Sport programs have started practice already on campus and there is a really exciting vibe coming into the academic year. Our coaches did a great job of bringing in student-athletes that fit our university well. We look forward in continuing the Brescia tradition of being strong in the classroom and to compete hard in the RSC Conference but also to be very active in our community. There are a lot of special things happening here and I am excited to see what the future brings. Go Bearcats!"
