Apollo E GalsOWENSBORO, Ky. (12/15/18) — Sophomore Amber Dunn scored 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead host Apollo past Owensboro 68-51 in a 9th District girls' basketball game on Friday night.

With the win, Apollo improved to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the 9th District.

Owensboro dropped to 5-2 overall and 1-1 in the district with the loss.

The E-Gals took control early, outscoring Owensboro 22-12 in the first quarter. Apollo led 34-18 at halftime and remained in control throughout the second half.

Lexi Shadowen accompanied Dunn in double figures for Apollo, scoring 14 points. Narrowly missing double figures, Kassidy Daugherty and Zoe Floyd added nine points apiece for the E-Gals.

Apollo shot 43 percent (28-of-65) from the field and outrebounded Owensboro 41-29.

Amaya Curry led the Lady Devils with 16 points. Owensboro featured three scorers in double figures as Tayonna Greer contributed 15 points and Nia Gonzo posted 10 points.

Owensboro shot only 31 percent (16-of-51) from the field and committed 19 turnovers.
