victoria secret alleged theivesOWENSBORO, Ky. (11/20/17) — A 55-mile police chase that started yesterday in Owensboro continued through parts of Ohio and Butler counties before the driver wrecked thus ending the pursuit.

Kentucky State Police said Trooper Blake Owens was patrolling the William Natcher Parkway when he spotted a 2015 black Chevrolet Impala at 4:30 p.m. traveling south at 100 MPH. When Owens attempted a traffic stop, the vehicle fled at speeds of more than 130 MPH traveling through parts of Daviess, Ohio, Butler and Warren counties.

KSP Henderson Post 16 and Bowling Green Post 3 used Stinger tire deflation devices but were unsuccessful. At about the 13 mile marker in warrant County, police say the driver attempted to swerve around a semi at a high rate of speed and lost control. The vehicle struck a rock-faced wall and flipped several times.

The two females are suspected of stealing merchandise from Victoria Secrets in Eastland Mall, Evansville, Indiana. Evansville Police Department is in charged of the department store theft complaint.

The driver, Tawana McGill, 30 of Nashville, Tennessee was taken to the hospital for a broken neck but released at 10:35 p.m. McGill was charged with first-degree fleeing/evading police/motor vehicle, speeding, first-degree wanton endangerment, wanton endangerment of a police officer, second-degree assault, receiving stolen property more than $500 but less than $10,000 and multiple other traffic offenses.

Passenger Michelle Beasley, 30 of Nashville was charged with receiving stolen property more than $500 but less than $10,000.

Both are being held in the Warren County Detention Center. Bond has not been set. The investigation is ongoing.
