craftonELKTON, Ky. (3/25/19) — Kentucky State Police Post 2 Tooper Justin Cornett observed a vehicle at 12:12 p.m. Saturday that was reported stolen sitting in the parking lot of New Harmony Church.
 
KSP said Cornett watched Patrick Crafton, 36 of Elkton exit the stolen vehicle. Upon making contact with Crafton, Cornett suspected him to be under the influence. After a series of tests, the trooper determined Crafton was under the influence and discovered him to be in possession of multiple pills.
 
Through further investigation, Cornett also discovered Crafton had stolen a generator, which he was able to recover, said KSP.
 
Crafton was charged with theft by unlawful taking or dispositon/auto - $500 or more but less than $10,000, driving on a DUI suspended license - first offense, DUI - second offense, theft by unlawful taking - $500 or more but less than $10,000 and third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance/drug unspecified - first offense.

He is being held in the Todd County Detention Center.
