pedigo caughtUPDATE: CENTRAL CITY, Ky. (4/13/19) 7:33 A.M. — Green River Correctional Complex inmate Charles Pedigo has been caught.

Pedigo was apprehended by the Warren County Sheriff's Department.

Kentucky State Police Trooper Rob Austin said WCSD notified Post 2 at 6:41 a.m. that the sheriff's department had taken Pedigo into custody.

KSP had reported the escaped inmate from Green River Correctional Complex in Central City was serving a 29-year sentence for assault and apparently walked off from minimum security incarceration April 10.

KSP said Post 2 was notified at 9:05 p.m. Wednesday that an inmate had escaped at approximately 8:50 p.m.

KSP said Pedigo was located at a residence on H.E. Johnson Road in Warren County after the homeowner called police saying a man was on her front porch trying to quiet her dogs. The area is approximately 12 minutes drive from Bowling Green and about 20 minutes from Scottsville.

Pedigo was taken to the Warren County Regional Jail.

KSP said Post 2 was notified at 9:05 p.m. Wednesday that an inmate had escaped at approximately 8:50 p.m.

Charles Pedigo, 44, originally from Scottsville, is approximately 5'9" tall weighing 250 pounds and has a goatee. KSP said Pedigo has a tattoo of the grim reaper on his left arm and a tattoo of a dream catcher with eagle on his upper right arm.

Pedigo has ties to Allen, Hardin and Simpson counties. Anyone with informaton on his whereabouts is asked to call KSP Post 2 at (270) 676-3313 or text a tip via the Kentucky State Police app.

CENTRAL CITY, Ky. (4/10/19) — There has been an escape from the Green River Correctional Complex Minimum Security Unit.

Tonight, authorities said Charles Pedigo, who was serving time on drug charges, is a white male in his middle 40s. He is described as being 5-foot-9-inches tall weighing 230 pounds with green eyes and having a short goatee.

Pedigo has ties to Allen, Hardin and Simpson counties.

Authorities urge everyone to use caution while outside, keeping all doors and windows to homes secure and locked. Those in vehicles should not pick up hitchhikers and anyone observing suspicious activity should alert authorities.
