gill 3 8 2017UTICA, Ky. — Ella E. Gill, 84, of Utica, Kentucky went home to be in the arms of the Lord and the love of her life, Donald Gill on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Ella Elizabeth Covington was born October 14, 1932 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky to the late Marvin and Susan Estelle Durall Covington and was married to Donald Ray Gill September 4, 1953. She was a homemaker, earlier worked at both General Electric in Owensboro and Utica Post Office, was a member of Livermore General Baptist Church, and a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Ella loved the Lord, her friends, and family. She enjoyed church social events, caring for children in her community, and brought smiles to everyone with her stories and laughter. In addition to her parents, Ella was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Donald R. Gill who died December 24, 2016 and by a granddaughter, Katherine Gill.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Donny and Teresa Gill of Nolensville, Tennessee; three daughters and their husbands, Faye and Wayne Mayfield of Bowling Green, Pamela and Steve Cooper, and Candace Colburn both of Utica; eight grandchildren, Kelly Mayfield, Kevin Mayfield, Brandon Gill, Taylor Gill, Kristina Floyd, Emily Cooper, Tara Babb, and Austin Babb; four great grandchildren, Shelby Mayfield, Kristin Mayfield, Lindsey Mayfield, and Brice Floyd; two brothers, Danny Covington of Greenville and Tommy Covington of Browder; and three sisters, Nancy Orange of Central City, Linda Porter, and Sheila Baugh both of Lewisburg.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel with the Revs. Roy Day and Shea Hicks officiating. Burial will be in the Utica Baptist Cemetery in Daviess County. Friends may visit with Ella’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday and from 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. Friday at Musters in Livermore.
