Revlett HeadshotOWENSBORO, Ky. (12/11/17) – Jared Revlett has been selected as the new Owensboro Public Schools Public Information Officer. Current OPS PIO Dave Kirk is resigning from OPS effective Dec. 31 to take a position with the Owensboro Daviess County Convention and Visitors Bureau. Revlett is an Owensboro native who currently works for Tandem Public Relations LLC in Louisville.

“I’m excited that my life is coming full circle," said Jared Revlett, OPS PIO-elect. "I started my education at Sutton Elementary as a young child and after several years in other cities, I'm excited to move back home and continue my family's legacy of working in education, especially now that Owensboro was recently named a top 11 city for millennials by Business Insider. My parents each worked in education so working for a school system hits home for me. I’ve always admired the Owensboro Public Schools family and look forward to continuing to tell the OPS story.”

Revlett will carry many duties as PIO. Those include spokesperson, media coordinator, website manager, channel 73 director and social media manager.

“It’s hard to replace someone like Dave Kirk, but I believe Jared will do a fantastic job. He brings an impressive background in public relations and also has extensive experience in video and social media,” said Dr. Nick Brake, OPS Superintendent.

“I’d like to thank Owensboro Public Schools for this incredible opportunity. I can’t wait to get started and embrace the motto of tradition, innovation and excellence,” said Revlett.

Revlett graduated from Hanover College in 2012 with a Bachelor’s degree in communication.  He’s a graduate of Leadership Louisville's Focus and Ignite programs, served as play-by-play broadcaster for 95.3 WIKI, Lipscomb University, the Rockford Aviators and the Lynchburg Hillcats, and also served as the Director of Media and Public Relations for the Evansville Rage football team. Revlett will start with OPS on Dec. 18.
