cliff hagan b g clubOWENSBORO, Ky. (3/11/18) ―  The Cliff Hagan Boys & Girls Club recently received four awards from the Kentucky State Area Council of Boys & Girls Clubs at their annual meeting March 6 and 7 in Lexington.

Each year, the Area Council recognizes Boys & Girls Clubs within Kentucky for their outstanding efforts and achievements from the prior year in the areas of Marketing & Communications, Outstanding Board Volunteer, Resource Development, Program, and Outstanding Club Staff. The awards are designed to give Boys & Girls Clubs recognition for their accomplishments, as well as to provide an opportunity to share their successes with other Clubs. There are 13 Clubs within Kentucky that represent 27 units throughout the state.

The Cliff Hagan Boys & Girls Club received the Outstanding Marketing & Communications award for its 2017 50th Anniversary booklet. Diane Bowers, board member, and Donna Munsey, volunteer for the Club, were instrumental in designing the publication. The Outstanding Board Volunteer was presented to Chuck Young, president of the Board of Directors for the Cliff Hagan Boys & Girls Club. Chuck began with the Cliff Hagan Boys & Girls Club Board of Directors in 1994 and is being recognized for his leadership role in both the local Club and the Evansville Boys & Girls Club.

Kalie Winkler, Unit Director for the Mike Horn Unit, was recognized as Outstanding Staff Member of the Year. Kalie began as a Club member when she was 6. Throughout middle school and high school, she volunteered at the Club. She became a staff member while attending college and has served the past two years as Unit Director at the Mike Horn Unit. Lastly, the Club was recognized as one of the top 3 Clubs of 2017 for its work with Board Transformation.

The Cliff Hagan Boys & Girls Club is dedicated to helping youth to be inspired and empowered so they may realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
