feldhause arrestMASONVILLE, Ky. (4/22/18) — Two women went to jail after one was scheduled to turn herself into police for allegedly making a false claim regarding a vehicle collision last week.

Kentucky State Police said a trooper was to meet Brittany L. Chatman, 32 of Owensboro at 7 p.m. Thursday night on U.S. 231 in Masonville regarding two misdemeanor warrants charging Chatman with making false claims about an April 17 vehicle accident.

When Chatman and Kortney D. Feldpausch, 22 of Owensboro arrived, the trooper reported smelling a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. After a vehicle search, the trooper reported finding marijuana and illegally prescribed medications in each of the women’s purses.

KSP charged Chatman with second-degree possession of a controlled substance/amphetamine, prescription controlled substance not in proper container, possession of marijuana and on warrants for falsely reporting an incident and unsworn falsification to authorities.

Feldpausch was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance – first offense and prescription controlled substance not in proper container.

Both were taken to Daviess County Detention Center. Fledpausch is being held on a $5,000 full cash bond while Chatman is not listed on the DCDC inmate roster as of this publication.
