daylilyOWENSBORO, Ky. (5/14/18) — The Western Kentucky Botanical Garden will be resplendent not only with the colors of its daylilies but also with beautiful hot air balloons on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 22-24 during the “Dazzling Daylilies Festival with Balloons Over The Garden” festival June 22-June 30.

Balloonists arrive at 6 p.m. June 22 and full flights will be available by reservation and payment of $200 per person. Call (270) 231-1703 for reservation. Full flight balloon rides will begin again at 5:30 a.m. Saturday and continue until 6 p.m.

Tethered balloon rides are available on a first-come/first-serve basis for $10 each. Full rides are available again Sunday morning by reservation.

On Saturday, June 23, children’s activities, a food court and music with Voice of The Garden, DJ Patty Millay beginning at 4 p.m.; from 6-8 p.m., “An Evening Out” at the Garden with VIP hospitality and the announcement of the “Name a Daylily” winner. At 8 p.m., there will be a “Balloon Glow”.

There will be a master daylily tour at 2 p.m. Monday, June 25 and again at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 27.

The Garden is open from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., seven days a week during the growing season.

Regular admission is $5 adults, $3 seniors and youth $1 with members admitted free. Beginning at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 23, admission will be adults $5 and 12 and younger free.
