gillette arrestUTICA, Ky. (6/12/18) — A Utica man was charged with possession of methamphetamine along with a host of traffic offenses last night in Daviess County.

Kentucky State Police said a trooper conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at 8:15 p.m. on Red Hill-Maxwell Road in Utica. KSP said the driver, James E. Gillette, 38, appeared to be under the influence. After taking Gillette into custody, police located a glass pipe with what appeared to be meth in Gillette’s pocket.

Gillette was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance/meth – second offense, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense, operating a motor vehicle on a suspended/revoked licenser, failure to surrender revoked operator’s license and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle.

Gillette is being held in the Daviess County Detention Center.
