Kentucky State Police said troopers responded at 12:45 p.m. July 6 to a residence on Aubrey Road, Maceo. KSP said Cory A. Murphree, 32, arrived at the residence to gather belongings. While there, he began arguing with this wife and others and pulled a handgun from his waistband and threatened everyone at the residence.

KSP said the wife tried to get control of the gun but was slightly injured when Murphree shoved her away. A witness to the altercation retrieved his firearm and ordered Murphree to drop his gun, which he did. KSP said everyone remained at the scene until authorities arrived.

Murphree was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, fourth-degree assault with minor injury and third-degree terroristic threatening.

Murphree is being held in the Daviess County Detention Center on a $10,000 full cash bond.
