clean waterOWENSBORO, Ky. (7/11/18) — Owensboro Municipal Utilities has announced that boil water advisories for some customers has been lifted.

Today, with water restored, restaurants were open serving bottled drinks and water.

At 5:50 p.m., the state Division of Water authorized OMU to lift the boil water order in some areas (shown in white in the map below).

The order remains in effect for the surrounding water districts with approximately 300 OMU customers in the Plant A Water Treatment Plant and main break area (shown in green in the map below). As water districts await the all clear order, ongoing work for those 300 customers also requires a boil water order.

Customers in the area across from the plant, in the area identified on the map also in green, will be without water beginning at 1 a.m. on Thursday, July 12 for approximately 7 hours while crews install a valve on a large main, which is part of this overall repair and restoration process.
