whitesvilleWHITESVILLE, Ky. (3/27/19) — The Whitesville Lions Club will host its annual Chili Supper and Pie Auction Friday, May 3. The annual fundraiser will support Puzzle Pieces and Wendell Foster, two local non-profit charities.

In 2018, the event raised $23,119.

“Our club is honored to host this annual event to support two great organizations that provide services to those with disabilities," said Cathy Roby, Advertising Representative for the Whitesville Lions Club. "This auction is so much fun and the excitement mounts when some of our donated pies and cakes go for over $1000.”

Serving begins at 5 p.m. with the auction kicking off around 6 p.m. at the Whitesville Senior Center located at 10345 Kentucky 54.

"We are excited and humbled to be part of the Pie Auction this year," says Amanda Owen, Executive Director at Puzzle Pieces. "Last year was so special to us from decorating cakes, inviting friends, and then to experience the high-dollar betting was icing on the cake". Whitesville Lions Club brings so much awareness and a fun night to raise money to support both clients at Wendell Foster and Puzzle Pieces, and we are just lucky to be a part of it."

Jeff Hagan, Marketing Director at Wendell Foster says, “Wendell Foster is excited to be a part of this event with Puzzle Pieces. Fundraising for both organizations is a full-time year-round priority. Having the Lions Club host this fundraiser for us means the world to our organizations and and it's a lot of fun for Puzzle Pieces and Wendell Foster staff, clients and residents to unite.”

Last year, Gail Campbell's blueberry cake was sold to Father Pat Bittel for $1,100, and Lewis Jean's pineapple upside-down cake brought the second highest bid at $1,000 from Daviess County Judge Executive Al Mattingly. Campbell plans to donate her cake again, and has challenged her friends and family to donate and see whose dessert brings in the most money.

Donated cakes, pies and other desserts can be delivered before 4pm on the day of the auction to the Whitesville Senior Center located at 10345 Kentucky 54. For more information, contact Cathy Roby at (270) 316-6914.
