asphalt2 kytrans 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (7/20/19) — A contractor for Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close the ramp, from U.S. 60 westbound to the I-165/William Natcher Expressway southbound, starting midnight Sunday.

The U.S. 60 westbound ramp to I-165/William Natcher Expressway southbound will be closed to allow the contractor to address pavement issues along the ramp, KYTC Spokesman Keith Todd reported. The ramp is expected to reopen sometime Wednesday night.

There will be a marked detour via the U.S. 231 Owensboro Exit 16 interchange to allow vechicles to return to U.S. 60 eastbound and connect to I-165 southbound, Todd said. Once the repair work is completed along the ramp, a crew is expected to return during the overnight hours Thursday to pave the ramp.

Closures for paving of other ramps at the I-165/U.S. 60 interchange at Owensboro will be scheduled at a later date. State officials remind drivers to use appropriate caution where equipment, flaggers and construction personnel are along the road in close proximity to traffic flow.
