Keith Todd, KYTC spokesman, said Thursday that Wednesday's accident involving a truck hauling metal that hit the bridge has caused extensive damage.

The bridge cannot be reopened to traffic without substantial repairs, said Todd. As the KYTC analysis continues, it will be determined how long the bridge will take to repair.
