Daviess co high school bldgDAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (8/19/19) — Daviess County High School will host a Club Fair and Open House on Thursday, Sept. 5, for students and families to learn about opportunities to be involved in all aspects of the DCHS experience during the new school year.
The Club Fair will be open from 3:35 to 4:30 p.m. in the lobby. Clubs that will have informational booths at this event include Anime, Archery, Chess, Christian Student Union, Council for Exceptional Children, DJ, Future Business Leaders of America, Fellowship of Christian Athletics, Family Career & Community Leaders of America, Future Farmers of America, Fine Arts Society, French Club, Habitat for Humanity, Junior Classical League, Key Club, Kindness Club, National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Teenage Republics, Theater Society, Y-club and Young Democrats.
Event organizer Nancy Smith said, “This event is designed to encourage students to be involved in some of the many DCHS activities that are available. Being part of a club or team helps students feel like they belong, while developing a team community and building leadership skills.”
The DCHS Parent/Volunteer PAWS group and the Youth Service Center will also have informational booths set up to provide information about their programs and services. DCHS Spirit Wear will be available for purchase.
A variety of food trucks will be open in the back parking lot from 4:30 to 6 p.m. and the cafeteria will be open for dining.
Meetings for parents/guardians of freshmen and juniors will begin at 5:15 p.m. in the auditorium and media center, respectively, to provide information about expectations and opportunities available for students and families.
Parents/guardians may visit classrooms and meet teachers from 6 to 8 p.m., following their students’ bell schedules.
