UPDATE: HENDERSON, Ky. (12/11/17) — A discarded cigarette is to blame for a fire at a Henderson office earlier this afternoon.

According to Henderson Fire Department officials, the blaze started at the back entrance of an office where Alcohol Anonymous meets along the 400 block of Hoffman Drive.

HFD said meetings were in progress at the time. Everyone got out of the building and there were no reported injuries. Several businesses sustained smoke and water damage.

Assistant Chief Jeremy Baxter said a cigarette was apparently discarded near the back door, which caught the exterior wall on fire.

HENDERSON, Ky. (12/11/17) — Henderson Fire Department crews are at the scene of a fire along the 400 block of Hoffman Drive.

At 1 p.m., It appeared flames and smoke are showing from the side of the building occupied by a business. Firefighters are working to extinguish the blaze.

Several businesses have been affected by the smoke, fire officials said.
