Henderson HealthplexHENDERSON, Ky. (12/15/17) — Owensboro Health Henderson Healthplex outpatient facility welcomed the community Thursday to take a look at its new facility at 1200 Barret Boulevard.

City and county officials took part in a ceremonial ribbon cutting. Throughout the day, hundreds of people streamed in to tour the building staffed with health representatives exhibiting a welcoming atmosphere.

The 41,000 square-foot location houses a variety of healthcare services including primary, specialty and urgent care, occupational health, diagnostic imaging and lab testing technology. 

There are a lot of changes in regard to where healthcare is going, said Greg Strahan, president and CEO of Owensboro Health.

“It’s a consumer driven economy now, and it’s all about what the consumer wants,” he said. “People want to be able to go see their doctor, and then if they need X-rays, lab work, or even an orthopedist, they want to be able to go down the hall and get it done instead of having to travel all over town.”

The latest equipment in 3-D mammography will be offered using the lowest radiation dosage, health officials said. Diagnostic imaging available includes a CT scanner, digital X-ray technology, bone density and ultrasound services.

Beginning Jan. 8, the Henderson Healthplex staff will provide pediatrics, family medicine, orthopedics/sports medicine, pain management, behavioral health and surgical specialists. 

“When the Healthplexes open in January, we're going to keep listening to the people in our communities,” said Owensboro Health Regional Clinics Director Gary Lee. “I’m interested in what they want to say. If we can improve existing services or bring new ones, we will pursue that.”

Hours of operation are listed as 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
