Water 12 21

HENDERSON, Ky. (12/21/17) — A gas and water line break on South Main Street in Henderson has resulted in the road being shut down just after 8 this morning.

South Main is closed at Hancock Street after a Henderson Water Department utility crew working on a water line project accidentally broke the water line as well as a gas line in the same location, Henderson officials reported.

Workers from gas and water utilities were on scene. City fire department personnel were helping to monitor and make sure there were no hazardous levels of gas in the air.

City officials reported the gas was turned off, and the water leak has been stopped, but it will likely take several hours to get full service restored.
