televisionHENDERSON, Ky. (12/28/17) — The two companies that provide cable television services in the city of Henderson have notified city officials the rates will be adjusted next month, and most of the adjustments will be increases, Henderson city officials reported today.

The companies are Spectrum (also known as Charter Communications) and Mediacom. They are the only two companies with franchises to operate within the city.

Charter said it will notify its customers that they will be adjusting rates starting Jan. 21. Mediacom, which serves a much smaller customer base in the city, plans to make its adjustments starting Jan. 1, Henderson officials reported.

Both companies indicated their rates increases are precipitated by “constantly being pressured” by the programmers they buy from to pay more for the channels they carry.
