UPDATE: HENDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (2/14/18) — Kentucky State Police Post 16 has identified the person found deceased along a gravel road near Reed Tuesday afternoon.

Detectives identified the man as Charles M. Riley, 50 of Owensboro, KSP reported.

KSP stated the coroner’s office facilitated the removal of Riley and an autopsy is scheduled. The Henderson County Coroner reported Tuesday the man died of natural causes.

KSP believes foul play is not suspected.

Officials say the family was notified right away and the investigation is still ongoing.

UPDATE: (2/13/18) — Henderson County Deputy Coroner Ron Adams reported it appears the person found deceased near Reed died of natural causes.

Reed 2 13HENDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (2/13/18) — The body of a man was found along a remote gravel road near Reed just before 2:30 p.m. today.

Kentucky State Police Special Investigations along with Reed and Spottsville Fire departments and Henderson County Coroner’s Office were still at the scene at 3:15 p.m.

The man was found lying face down in the mud near his pickup truck, which also appeared to be stuck in the mud, authorities indicated.

His identity and cause of death has not been determined. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
