pink flowers 300HENDERSON, Ky. (3/8/18) — Henderson County Public Library announced the following activities:

Interview with Oswald “Poss” Coomes

During his teaching career, Roy Pullam and students at North Middle School took on the task of interviewing Kentuckians who made contributions to the community, state, or nation. These interviews were developed into an audio/video series entitled “Bonnet Presents An Interview with. . . “ and have been in storage for many years.

At 2 p.m. Saturday, the library will show “An Interview with Oswald ‘Poss’ Coomes,” a living narrative about how Henderson has changed since the early 1900s. Coomes owned a local tavern from 1946-51, and died at the age of 90. This is a Bonnet video by Jessi Chaney, a former student at North Middle School.

The library has census records for Henderson, Union, and Webster counties along with other local history records, such as newspapers, city directories, and photo files, as well as databases, such as Fold3 and Ancestry.com, available for use. Follow Henderson, Kentucky Genealogy on Facebook.
