CRIME INVESTIGATE 300HENDERSON, Ky. (4/16/18) — Henderson Police Department arrested two Henderson residents in connection to an armed robbery investigation.

HPD reported officers responded to a Washington Street residence April 4. Victims stated Jeremiah X. McCray, 28, and four others entered the apartment wearing bandanas and hoodies, saying McCray cocked a handgun, asked where their money was hidden and how much weed they had.

The residents told police they were able to ID McCray, because his bandanna did not fully cover his face, HPD reported.

According to police, McCray previously indicated he was in Louisville during the 12:40 a.m. April 4 incident, and eventually admitted to meeting with four unnamed individuals on Washington Street.

“McCray stated that he knew a robbery was going to happen and that his girlfriend, Savanna Shelton, drove him to the location,” HPD wrote.

McCray denied having a gun during the robbery, and Shelton, 19, denied being at the residence, HPD reported.

McCray was charged Friday with first-degree robbery. Shelton was charged with complicity to first-degree robbery.

HPD Detective Jake Isonhood is seeking information regarding other individuals said to have been involved. To leave a tip, call (270) 831-1295 or call Crime Stoppers at (270) 831-1111.
