Health First 6 11 2HENDERSON, Ky. (6/11/18) — Health First Community Health Center recently held their first summer block party at Cabell Platt Medical Center located at 700 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave.

This event was free that included food, sno-cones, popcorn, games and activities. The fire department displayed their fire truck for the children to see and Matthew 25 was also in attendance with a booth.

Health First officials reported more than 100 people attended the event. Mayor Steve Austin, Bobbie Jarrett, Director of the Henderson Housing Authority and members of the Health First Board of Directors Nibby Priest (Board Chair) and Mark Chumbler (Secretary/Treasurer) were among those in attendance.

The summer block party was the idea of Dr. Kumar and staff at Cabell Platt Medical Center to provide a safe, fun event for the children and to show the community they are appreciated. Staff members said they are already planning for next year.

Health First Community Health Center is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, federally qualified health center. The company was established in 2010 and operates 7 clinic locations in western Kentucky. Their mission is to provide access to primary care services and improve the health status of the residents in the communities they serve, regardless of financial status. They provide a wide range of primary care services from Family Practice, Pediatrics, Behavioral Health, OB/GYN and Nutrition Services.
