ByrnesHENDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (6/19/18) — A chase in Henderson County ended in an arrest Monday morning.

Just before noon, the Henderson County Sheriff's Office reported deputies were dispatched to a complaint in Corydon involving someone revving their engine in the area of Clark Street.

Deputies were unable to locate the older model Chevy pickup said to be driven by Alan Byrne, 49 of Corydon.

According to a news release, the deputy later spotted a pickup on Vayden Street matching the description. As the deputy approached the vehicle, the driver took off towards 7th Street. The deputy was able to catch up with the white pickup near Kings Mill Road. A traffic stop was attempted, and Byrne fled, reaching speeds of 70 mph.

HCSO reported Byrne drove just over a mile before reaching his sister’s residence, pulled in the driveway, and got out of the vehicle to lie on the ground. When searched, the deputy reported finding marijuana and drug paraphernalia in Byrne’s pockets.

Byrne was taken to Henderson County Jail. He was charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment 1st degree of a police officer, reckless driving, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
