HENDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (7/17/18) — Emergency crews are responding to the Cairo community near Petersburg Road off U.S. 41-A in Henderson County for a report of a ruptured gas line.

Roads in that vicinity were being shut down around 9 tonight as authorities investigate after a gas line was apparently struck.

Texas Gas officials at the scene reported it was not their gas line. Atmos Energy representatives are also reporting to the area.

Henderson Emergency Management Agency along with Cairo and Poole Fire departments have been called out in addition to Henderson County Sheriff’s Office.

Evacuation is a topic of discussion among emergency officials this evening.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet workers are out posting "road closed" signs.

It could possibly take several hours to repair the leak.
