Crash 2 7 20

UPDATE: HENDERSON, Ky. (7/20/18) — It was a scene that required multiple agencies working together in the city of Henderson through the day.

A 51-year-old woman suffered fatal injuries following a three-vehicle collision along the 500 block of North Green Street that happened at 11:06 a.m.

According to a Henderson Police Department press release, Martha Talley of Henderson was pronounced deceased at Methodist Hospital.

Talley was driving a Toyota Camry, when she struck the rear of a Honda Element driven by Carter Clements, 18 of Henderson, HPD reported. Talley’s vehicle crossed three lanes of traffic and struck the front of O’Reilly’s Auto Parts. The Camry was partially inside the building. No one was injured inside or near the building.

Clements’ vehicle struck the back of a Chevy Cruze driven by 46-year-old Stacie Miller of Evansville, Indiana, according to the report. Miller’s car went over the curb near O’Reilly’s and struck a utility pole that landed on her vehicle. It had live electrical lines attached to the pole. City electrical workers quickly addressed the issue.

Talley, Clements and his passenger, Richard Clements, 70, and Miller were rushed to Methodist Hospital, Officer Jennifer Richmond wrote. The Clements have since been taken to St. Vincent Hospital due to severity of their injuries sustained in the collision. Miller was treated and released.

Henderson County Coroner Bruce Farmer reported an autopsy on Talley’s body has been scheduled at the Medical Examiner’s Office in Madisonville.

Investigators will review all information and accident reconstruction related to the crash over the next several weeks, Richmond reported.

“This accident scene was very large and had many elements,’ Richmond said, giving thanks to agencies that swiftly responded to implement safety measures.

Henderson Fire Department, Henderson Ambulance Service, Henderson Municipal Power and Light and Henderson County Detention Center also assisted at the scene.
