armed robbery2 300HENDERSON, Ky. (8/7/18) — A 17-year-old clerk was tied up and held at gunpoint at a Henderson gas station.

Henderson Police Department reported officers responded 1 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1 to the Kangaroo at Garden Mile Road, where two armed, white males approached the clerk from behind as he swept the floor, forced him to the ground and put a gun to the back of his head. The clerk was not injured.

Detectives obtained surveillance footage the next day from Walmart that showed one of the individuals wearing the same clothing as described 30 minutes prior to entering the Kangaroo.

HPD reported receiving information to ID one of the suspects, listed as a 17-year-old male. After questioning the suspect, detectives searched his bedroom, finding both bags used in the robbery containing the stolen merchandise. The teen denied involvement in the robbery.

The unnamed male was charged Friday with first-degree robbery and taken to McCracken County Juvenile Detention Center.

Police are still seeking information to identify the second suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Isonhood at (270) 831-1295 or Crime Stoppers at (270) 831-1111.
