UPDATE: HENDERSON, Ky. (12/7/18) — A Henderson County man has been charged with attempted murder in connection to a shooting late Thursday night in Corydon following an investigation today.

Henderson County Sheriff’s Office reported James Thomas, the man previously picked up early this morning following a police pursuit, faces the additional charge in connection to the shooting of Dylan Majors.

No details have been released regarding what led to the shooting.

Majors’ condition is unknown. He was taken to St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

HENDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (12/7/18) — A man that suffered a gunshot wound Thursday night in Corydon has been identified.

Henderson County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a possible shooting in Corydon outside of Henderson just before midnight, finding Dylan Majors, 25, with a gunshot wound. His was taken to St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

According to a press release, a deputy began first aid on Majors and was able to radio other responding units the details on the person of interest related to the shooting.

Kentucky State Police troopers and deputies located the suspect shortly afterward in the area of Geneva bottoms in the northwest area of Henderson County.

When approached by deputies, a man identified as James Thomas, 22 of Corydon, took off in his vehicle, authorities reported.

The pursuit went throughout the Geneva bottoms area, back onto Kentucky 136-W, through Geneva and into the city of Henderson. The pursuit came to an end on Rankin Avenue, where Thomas was arrested without further incident, HCSO reported.

Thomas faces numerous charges including first-degree fleeing police, three counts of second-degree wanton endangerment and two counts of second-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer.

Deputies indicated more charges are pending as the investigation continues.

KSP Post 16 and Henderson Police Department assisted in the vehicle pursuit.

UPDATE: HENDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (12/7/18) — Authorities located a suspect wanted for questioning related to a shooting that occurred Thursday night along the 400 block of Fifth Street in Corydon.

Spray paint marked pools of blood on the road as authorities continue to investigate the incident.

The unidentified male victim was taken to Methodist Hospital, and then transferred to St. Vincent in Evansville, Indiana, for apparent treatment of a gunshot wound to the neck.

The victim’s condition is unknown.

Henderson County Sheriff’s Office notified Union County authorities around 11 p.m. that a possible suspect in connection to the shooting was headed toward Smith Mills bottoms near Uniontown.

The man in question was identified as 22-year-old James W. Thomas of Corydon, who led authorities to his home on Rankin Avenue during a pursuit at 1:30 a.m. today.

Thomas was taken into custody and charged with first-degree fleeing police, driving on a suspended license, second-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer and served an outstanding warrant on failure to appear.

He was listed as being held in Henderson County Jail on no bond this morning. He has not been charged in connection to the shooting.

HENDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (12/6/18) — First responders are taking an individual to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound tonight.

Emergency crews went to Fifth Street in Corydon, and Henderson EMS was called out around 11 p.m.

Henderson County Sheriff’s Office deputies also reported to the scene, where a man was apparently shot in the neck.

It is believed a male suspect is on the run and headed towards Union County. Police are swarming the area.
