Crash 5 3

UPDATE: HENDERSON COUNTY, Ky.  (5/3/19) — Just after 10 Thursday night, emergency responders and Henderson County Sheriff's Deputies were called to Kentucky 268 at McDonalds Landing Road near Geneva after receiving reports of a single-vehicle collision.

According HCSO, units arrived on scene finding a 2008 Mercury Mariner overturned in the middle of the road. The driver, identified as Michael Meredith, 41 of Henderson, was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated. Officials say it appeared the vehicle left the road, struck a ditch, overturned and landed on the pavement.

Smith Mills Fire Department and Henderson City/County Rescue Squad teams performed a rapid extrication to free Meredith from the overturned vehicle. He was taken to Methodist Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the collision.

Deputies determined Meredith was under the influence of an intoxicant during the investigation, according to a press release. He was charged with DUI.
