Speed 31HENDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (8/3/19) — U.S. 60 has reopened to traffic along mile-markers 24-26 near the Henderson-Union County line, between Morganfield and Henderson, state highway officials reported.

While the road is open to traffic, it continues to be an active work zone with a posted 35 mph speed limit, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Spokesman Keith Todd reported.

As previously noted, the contractor will be back at the site over the next two months for paving and shoulder work, Todd said. Base pavement will be added in 4-inch lifts over the next two months until the driving surface has been raised just over 2 feet along parts of the work zone.

Todd previously reported the replacement of old drainage structures will help reduce road flooding.

As work continues, Todd asks drivers to be aware of one-lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers. Appropriate caution is required.
