Hend bypassHENDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (8/5/19) — A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close a section of U.S. 41 and connecting ramps at the U.S. 41/I-69 Henderson Exit 10 interchange with Kentucky 425 Henderson Bypass starting Saturday.

KYTC Spokesman Keith Todd reported the ramp closures as well as connecting ramps, between Kentucky 425 Henderson Bypass and I-69 at the south edge of Henderson is to allow concrete rehabilitation work.

This work zone closure runs from U.S. 41 mile point 10.75 at the U.S. 41 intersection with the Kentucky 425 Henderson Bypass and Kentucky 2084, extending northeastward to U.S. 41 mile point 11.525 at the end of the connecting ramps in the I-69/U.S. 41/Kentucky 425 interchange, Todd said. There will be no marked detour.

Todd explained the contractor will be taking out deteriorated concrete pavement and replacing it with new concrete. He asks drivers to be alert for lane restrictions along I-69 and U.S. 41 through the Exit 10 interchange. The lane restrictions are to allow trucks and other construction equipment to access the work area along the ramps. Drivers should be prepared for this extended closure and detour starting 6 a.m. Saturday.

Westate Construction of Hopkinsville is the prime contractor on the $1.45 million highway improvement project. The target completion date is Nov. 15.
