trafficalert purple 300HENDERSON, Ky. 98/19/19) — The city of Henderson Public Works Traffic Control will be painting/striping the parking spaces in the Central Business District in downtown Henderson Sunday.

The work begins 6 a.m. and will be finished sometime around 2 p.m., city officials reported. Streets will be closed while each block is painted and reopen once the paint has dried. Residents are asked to be aware of street closures in various places throughout the morning and early afternoon.

The blocks that contain churches will be painted first to help prevent any street closures from interfering with Sunday services, city spokeswoman Donna Stinnett reported. Public Works Traffic Control requests all cars be removed from public parking on streets in the Central Business District.

Also, Traffic Control will begin repainting numbers on parking spaces and curbs Wednesday. No streets will be closed for this task; however, workers will be working on the streets.
