interstate 69 300HENDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (11/28/19) — The driver of a tractor trailer hauling 77,000 pounds of crushed aluminum cans was charged overnight.

Henderson County Sheriff’s Office reported deputies were called out to the I-69 ramp onto Kentucky 425 in Henderson shortly after midnight.

Deputy Daniels found 51-year-old Jeffrey Perkins of Foster inside the cab, according to the report. He sustained non-life-threatening injuries after the semi overturned after running over several road signs.

Perkins faces charges of aggravated DUI and open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle.

The ramp was shut down through 7 a.m. today.

Henderson County Emergency Management Agency, Henderson EMS, Henderson City-County Rescue, Henderson Police Department and Niagara Fire Department assisted.
