jmms 3 14 2017HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (3/14/17) — The founders of Rock Math will visit James Madison Middle School in Madisonville on Friday, thanks to a video created by teacher Josh Ipock and some of his eighth-grade students.

The video was the winner of a nation-wide contest sponsored by Rock Math. Entrants were tasked with convincing Rock Math instructors why they should come to a particular school. See the JMMS entry below or go to the following link: The video was edited by Connley Sewalls, who was recently honored as the Kentucky winner of the Doodle4Google art contest.

When Program founders Adam Dovico and Valerie Camille Jones visit the school Friday, they will take over Mr. Ipock’s math classes and teach current math topics using Rock Math strategies. Dovico is an instructor at Wake Forest University, and Jones is an instructor at the Ron Clark Academy. Rock Math celebrates and promotes the innovative teaching of mathematics.
