UPDATE: MADISONVILLE, Ky. (11/15/17) — City police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man in connection to Tuesday night’s robbery at the East Center Street BP.

A white man in his mid to late 20s went into the store at 6:50 p.m. brandishing a small, silver handgun and ordered the workers to “open the register and give him all the money,” and then fled on foot toward Hodge Street with about $500, MPD stated in a press release.

Two customers were in the store when the incident happened.

He is described as a 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-6 white male, wearing black and white shoes, dark pants, an olive/drab shirt, blue bandana and a black jacket with a hood.

Police also indicated the man had a slender build and brown hair.

MPD reported a video of the incident would be released. It will be posted when available.

Police released surveillance video footage showing the suspect going to the back of the store. He pointed the weapon toward workers at the counter, taking the cash from the register and then throwing the cash drawer onto the floor before leaving.
