Arrest 12 1MADISONVILLE, Ky. (12/1/17) — A man who told police he had been growing marijuana at his Hipple Street home for the past four years was arrested early this morning.

According to a Madisonville Police Department arrest report, Officer Ethan Horne went to the home to do a welfare check on a woman that also had an active arrest warrant.

Homeowner Joshua H. Williams gave the officer consent to search the residence for the female, who was in a bedroom with a man, MPD reported. The officer also spotted drug paraphernalia and a bag of marijuana. Williams signed a consent form for police to search the rest of the home for narcotics.

Officer Justin Crump listed on the report that he assisted Horne in the investigation at the residence, where “an indoor marijuana grow” was found in a back bedroom.

Police reported seizing 12 plants believed to be marijuana in addition to 3 ounces of a leafy substance from a kitchen freezer.

Williams was charged with cultivating marijuana (five plants or more). He was listed as being held in Hopkins County Jail this evening on a $500 surety bond.

MPD also released the following arrest reports today:

Kathleen G. Griener of Madisonville was charged Dec. 1 with failure to appear.

Carol Lear of Madisonville was charged Nov. 30 with theft by deception (under $500).
