UPDATE: HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (1/4/18) — An adult, teen and two juveniles were taken into custody following a two-state, high-speed pursuit that ended in Hopkins County Wednesday night.

Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office reported deputies were made aware of the pursuit at 7:56 p.m. that originated in Evansville, Indiana and made its way into Hopkins County.

Deputies were told a driver of a Lincoln Towne Car and the individuals along for the ride had been involved in an alleged armed robbery in Evansville that prompted the Evansville Police Department pursuit, according to a HCSO report.

Local deputies reported seeing the car on Jewell City Road and attempted to make a traffic stop. However, the driver sped away going 90 mph before Kentucky State Police troopers were able to roll out a spike strip.

“A short time later, the vehicle exited the roadway where all occupants were taken into custody without further incident by the Hopkins County Sheriff’s deputies,” HCSO Sgt. Ryan Bailey wrote.

Samone Steen, 39 of Louisville was charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment (police officer), speeding 26 mph or greater than the limit, reckless driving, DUI (aggravated), driving on a suspended license and other traffic violations.

Geonovan Marquis Bailey, 19 of Evansville was charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police and two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment (police officer).

The youths were taken to McCracken County Juvenile Detention Center.
