Trice M 1 4MADISONVILLE, Ky. (1/4/18) — A Hanson mother faces DUI and child endangerment charges after a traffic collision Wednesday night.

A 3-year-old child was listed as injured and taken to Baptist Health Madisonville for treatment of a fractured leg. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was taken to Louisville Pediatric Center for surgery, Officer Taylor Boggs reported. The mother was not injured.

Madisonville Police Department reported responding to the incident at 7:30 p.m. along Island Ford Road and Whittington Drive.

According the the arrest report, Maleah D. Trice, 26, exhibited signs of impairment, stating she had been “drinking alcohol."

The child was wearing a seat belt in the front seat, MPD reported, but did not meet height and weight requirements of child restraint regulations.

Trice was charged with DUI (aggravated), driving on a suspended or revoked license, failure to use child restraint device in a vehicle and second-degree wanton endangerment.

She was listed as being held in Hopkins County Jail this afternoon on $2,000 cash bond.
