HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (1/5/18) — Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program funding is available in Hopkins County beginning 8 a.m. Monday through the middle of March or until funds are expended.

Pennyrile Allied Community Services-Hopkins County Assistance Center at 130 Branch St., Madisonville, announced the office will be accepting applications from residentsPacs logo should they be in a crisis situation involving imminent loss of heating energy.

Applicants are required to provide the following:

• Utility disconnection notice
• Have four or fewer days of fuel oil, propane, kerosene, wood or coal
• Received an eviction notice citing unpaid rent

Kentucky LIHEAP is a federally funded program that helps low-income families pay heating bills through grants or crisis grants paid directly to utility companies. Subsidies are offered November and December, while the crisis component is initiated in January.

For more information, call the PACS-HCAC Assitance Center at (270) 821-8114.
