TiaraMADISONVILLE, Ky. (1/5/18) — Two Florida women allegedly trying to pass a forged check at a Madisonville bank led police on a high-speed chase into Caldwell County before crashing off Interstate 69 this afternoon.

According to a Madisonville Police Department report, officers received a complaint about the suspects at First United Bank off North Main Street at 1:34 p.m.

The driver, identified as Nicole Ryan, 38 of Palm Bay, Florida, and her passenger, Tiara Andrade, 30, were seen leaving the bank hurriedly in a 2017 black Nissan Sentra, police said.

MPD reported officers initiated a traffic stop, but the driver fled south onto I-69 from Island Ford Road.

Police indicated the suspects “threw documents out the window of the vehicle,” at least twice during the journey. A short time afterward, police recovered the papers and gathered the suspects after Ryan lost control and crashed into an embankment after taking Exit 81 off I-69 near Princeton.

Ryan and Andrade were taken to Caldwell Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash, MPD reported. Ryan was transferred to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. Andrade was taken to Hopkins County Jail afterward.

Both face charges of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, identity theft, first-degree wanton endangerment charges, tampering with physical evidence, first-degree fleeing or evading police and other charges.

Ryan was also charged with DUI (aggravated) and reckless driving. Andrade was additionally charged with receiving stolen property ($10,000 or more), theft of a vehicle registration plate, public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police, Dawson Springs Police Department, Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office and Caldwell EMS assisted.
