accident glass 300MADISONVILLE, Ky. (2/9/18) — A driver was injured during a two-vehicle accident that occurred this morning at the intersection of North Scott and Branch streets this morning in Madisonville.

Madisonville Police Department reported Carolyn Nippe, 72 of Madisonville, was driving west on Branch in a 2012 Hyundai Accent at 10:41 a.m., and went through the intersection, causing the driver of another vehicle to strike her on the front, right bumper.

The second driver was identified as Merle Rakestraw, 75 of Madisonville. MPD reported Rakestraw was driving south in the right lane of North Scott. Rakestraw’s 2017 Ford F-150 continued south before striking a metal rail at 140 Branch Street.

Nippe was taken by ambulance to Baptist Health Madisonville for treatment of possible injuries. Rakestraw was not listed as injured.
